Note: This guide is for companies running overseas business and marketing to overseas markets. It is Clickto's practical advice, not official platform rules.
Short answer
When choosing a generative engine optimization (GEO) provider, check five things: which overseas AI platforms they cover, how they measure, whether they understand website technology, whether content rests on real information, and whether you can trial first. Clickto's view: nobody can guarantee that AI will recommend a company, so treat that promise with care.
What GEO is
GEO is the work of helping AI search and assistants reach, understand and accurately cite your company. Answer engine optimization (AEO) focuses more on answering questions directly, and the two are usually done together.
Checklist
| Area | Ask | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Platforms | Which AI assistants used by overseas buyers are covered? | Cannot explain platform differences |
| Measurement | Is the question set fixed? Are records dated? | One screenshot as proof |
| Technical ability | Can they check crawler access, structured data and readability? | Writing only |
| Accuracy | Are company facts consistent and verifiable? | Mass-published false content |
| Trial | Can you validate on a small scale first? | Long contracts only |
Cost
There is no reliable public price standard yet. Compare written quotes by platform count, question set size, content volume and reporting frequency.
