Build demand before launch. Convert early momentum into crowdfunding success.

Many crowdfunding projects start looking for backers on launch day, and the page opens to silence. Before launch we use a $1 VIP reservation funnel to build a list of prospective backers with real purchase intent, validate the numbers with Meta ad tests, then prepare the campaign page and launch sequence, so launch day starts with momentum.

Best for
Chinese hardware brands with a ready product or working prototype, preparing to launch on Kickstarter
Usual channels
Meta (Facebook & Instagram) ads, landing page and email, the Kickstarter campaign page
Timeline
About 10–14 weeks of pre-launch work, then a 30-day live campaign

Does this sound like you?

  • The product is ready, but nobody knows it exists

The prototype works and the team is ready, but there is no list of prospective backers and no idea who will turn up on launch day.

  • Worried ad spend will be wasted

You know crowdfunding needs ads, but not how much to spend, who to target or which numbers mean it is working.

  • Unclear what a service actually covers

You have talked to agencies, but their scope was vague and it was never clear what they would do and what was left to you.

A qualified audience, ready on day one

Our proposed method is a $1 VIP reservation funnel. Interested buyers pay $1 to reserve a launch-day benefit.

It is a pre-launch qualification step that shows real purchase intent. It is not a Kickstarter pledge. This method is subject to product suitability and payment-platform requirements. Reservation processing fees are borne by the account holder.

The funnel runs in order: Meta ads bring attention, an email lead shows interest, a $1 reservation shows purchase intent, and launch day turns it into early momentum.

Four phases, one team

Each phase has a clear output. Ad spend scales only after testing proves the numbers work.

  1. 01

    Positioning & messaging

Competitor research, buyer personas, pains and benefit ladder.

OutputA message that sells the outcome, plus a shot list for visual assets

  2. 02

Landing page & $1 VIP funnel

Landing page, VIP offer, reservation checkout, thank-you page, automated welcome emails and a VIP community group.

OutputA complete funnel ready to take reservations

  3. 03

    Meta ads: testing, then scaling

Account setup, then structured creative, copy and headline tests. Validation gate: we scale only when cost per lead and cost per VIP meet agreed targets.

OutputValidated acquisition numbers and a scaling decision

  4. 04

    Campaign page, launch & post-launch

Campaign page copy and build, reward structure, launch emails, VIP-first launch sequence, live-campaign ads and post-launch guidance.

OutputA campaign page and launch sequence prepared in your Kickstarter account

Questions

Which numbers do you report?

Cost per lead (CPL), cost per VIP, lead-to-VIP conversion, total qualified VIPs, estimated launch-day pledges, projected funding (low / base / high scenarios), and actual pledges and funding once live. Forecasts are estimates, not guarantees: every projection states its assumptions, including VIP-to-backer conversion rate and average pledge value.

Can you guarantee how much we will raise?

No. Clickto does not guarantee any fundraising amount, funding speed or campaign outcome. If ad tests do not meet validation targets, we may recommend postponing the launch rather than proceeding with an unvalidated campaign.

What do we need to provide?

A product or working prototype ready for photography and demonstration; product samples, existing photos and brand assets; timely feedback and approvals; Kickstarter account ownership, verification and publication; and the advertising budget, paid directly to Meta.

Which costs are not included?

Media / advertising spend; fulfilment, logistics, backer support and refunds; Kickstarter platform fees and payment-processing fees, including $1 reservation fees; pledge-manager subscription or transaction fees; extraordinary software expenses not required for the agreed scope; and extended or additional services. Standard tools required for the agreed scope are included.

How long does the whole project take?

Pre-launch takes about 10–14 weeks: weeks 1–3 cover positioning, messaging, landing page and VIP funnel; weeks 3–8 ad setup and testing; weeks 8–14 scaling reservations plus campaign page and rewards. Then a 30-day live campaign, followed by pledge-manager and late-pledge guidance. Timelines are estimates and depend on approvals, product readiness, ad validation results and platform review.
